History of Shogun Capital Inc

Shogun Capital was founded in 2019 by serial entrepreneur Robert Tallack and his ecommerce technology focused partners.

The name Shogun pays homage to Robert’s background in Martial Arts. Born into a family of Martial Art’s experts, Robert was raised in Japan. Upon return to Canada, Robert became a professional Martial Arts competitor, master-level instructor and professional MMA fighter.

Robert’s career highlights included 9 Canadian National Championships, 3 World Karate Championships, and setting a world record for board breaking (which as of 2021 still stands).

Robert was a pioneer of professional MMA (known as UFC) and fought in USA, Canada and Japan. Robert launched one of the first MMA gyms in Canada and had members eventually fight in the UFC, IFC, IFL around the world.

Robert, after earning a Health Science degree from a Canadian Ivy league university, launched his first ecommerce company 2008, eventually selling it to a small-cap public company.

Shogun Capital was launched in 2019 after Robert and team concluded the successful exit of ConversionPoint Technologies, a company Robert co-founded in California.

As CEO, Robert and team scaled the company from startup to $60 million in revenue in just over a year, then secured two major acquisitions, eventually selling the CPT group in late 2019.
